4. CORRESPONDENCE AND ITEMS WHICH THE CHAIRMAN CONSIDERED URGENT

4.1 Conservation of Parish Records
The Clerk would book places for the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Mr Forster on a visit to the Norfolk Records Office in June.

4.2 NCAPTC Executive Committee
No nominations were put forward for the vacancy for Broadland members.

4.3 Lamas Village Hall - Asbestos Survey
(The Chairman declared an interest in this matter; the Vice-Chairman took the chair for discussion of this item)

The Village Hall Committee had received a letter from the Scout Association asking for an asbestos survey of the Hall. Initial enquiries had revealed that a Type 2 Standard survey would cost in the region of £480, but further quotations were being sought. The Committee had earmarked reserves for adaptation of the existing toilets for disabled persons use, and sought assistance from the Parish Council.

Proposed by Mr Forster, seconded by Mr Tomlinson and AGREED, the Committee should proceed with a survey, to be funded from Parish Council reserves. The Parish Council delegated authority to the Committee to appoint a contractor to carry out the survey, employing Best Value principles. The expenditure budget heading for Lamas Village Hall would be increased by the cost of the survey.

The Clerk would check on the need for permission for the Lamas Village Hall sign to be attached to the building.

There being no further business, the meeting closed at 8.47pm.
